MEXT Promotion of Development of a Joint Usage/Research System Project:
Coalition of Universities for Research Excellence Program (CURE)
We have been awarded a grant from the MEXT Promotion of Development of a Joint Usage/Research System Project: Coalition of Universities for Research Excellence Program (CURE) in FY 2023.
In our program titled “Establishing a collaborative intelligence platform towards extending healthy life expectancy,” Kanazawa University (Cancer Research Institute), Tohoku University (Institute of Development, Aging and Cancer), Osaka University (Research Institute for Microbial Diseases), and Keio University (Institute for Advanced Biosciences) have come together to form the interdisciplinary research field “Healthy Life Span Science” consortium, by linking outstanding research on “cancer,” “aging,” “inflammation,” and “metabolism,” and expanding dynamic collaboration at the organizational level. By transcending the conventional boundaries of research fields and researcher communities targeted by each institution, we aim to establish a “hub” where researchers from various domestic and international disciplines can participate, thereby revitalizing joint usage and joint research activities and striving towards the construction of a “collective intelligence” platform for extending healthy lifespan.
